Weather's a-changin'

Holy fuck, it's a monsoon out there.

What is wrong with our weather? I know it rains in Vancouver, but the lighting storms have been more frequent this year, and the inconstancy of the weather is getting worse.

Just now, the sky opened up and dropped so much rain that I couldn't see for a block for all the water in the way. After about a minute, it's back to "regular" Vancouver rainy weather, but with massive lighting and thunder crashes. Now it's turned into a light rain, and not quite our customary drizzle. It looks like it will be gone in a few more minutes.

I believe in climate change.

I know what you mean! We're getting tons and tons of thunder all over... in fact, just a few minutes ago there was this huge boom and the entire house shook. XD I love storms!!!

I love storms, too. I'm just very suspicious when we get weather that I thought only ever occurred Back East.

wild how quick it started up here.

I had carefully taken a small mouse outside, clad only in my post-shower towel. There was no rain for that. However, by the time I walked downstairs and over to my computer, a torrential downpour had begun.

Wonderful to see!

But what he was doing in my pajamas I'll never know...

You were concerned for the mouse's modesty?

Re: But what he was doing in my pajamas I'll never know...

some mice can be awfully shy you know!

*grin*

timid as a mouse and all that ...

Re: But what he was doing in my pajamas I'll never know...

You'd be pretty shy too if your modifiers were out there dangling for all the world to see! ;-)

Luckily, it was only a drizzle in Burnaby, which prevented us getting flooded again. Also luckily, I wasn't in Burnaby, so I got the downpour experience.

Re: I believe in climate change.

There is that. I suppose I should ignore odd, localised city-weather like that as erroneous data points.

Still, our weather is changing on a broader scale. The weather has been extreme the past couple winters and summers. It seems like the East was nearly frozen for most of this summer, while we had the earliest heat wave in meteorological history this year.
