I just sniffed something really tasty drifting through the open window. I immediately paused my music player to get a better smell of it.

Duh!

This is the third time this week someone I know has mentioned synesthesia. How bizarre.

Were the other two related to the quiz you recently posted?

Strangely enough, no.

The word came up in a conversation I was having today too. No quiz involved.

You really get synesthesia a lot? That is one funky nervous system.

Not very often, and it's usually of the mundane variety:

"What? Wait, let me put my glasses on..."

I think better in the mornings after I put my glasses on than before. It's a perceptual-readiness thing. I think the music was similar in that I somehow expected the noise to interfere with my sense of smell, but I didn't actually perceive a connection.

Silly people and your silly tendency to drop a before e in Greek- or Latin-based word. ;)

Yeah!

Mouse,
spelling snob :)
