Spatial thinking as a mental platform
twitch sigil
The results of this test are particularly surprising, since I consider myself to be a very visually-based thinker. Actually, I think that maybe I’m so much a visual thinker (I do arithmetic in my head [slowly, alas] by manipulating blocks representing components of numbers) that I apply it to everything else. I know that my interpersonal thinking is strong, but it’s possible that how I approach interpersonal thinking is spatial in my head and I’m navigating possibility/consequence spaces in figuring out how to proceed. Which reminds me that I would probably enjoy taking a modal logic course if it weren’t for the damned metatheory.

Anyway, I’m just startled to see such a low result on visual thinking. Granted, it’s a 20-question quiz, and it would take something incredibly nuanced to confirm my hypothesis about using spatial thinking for everything, anyway.

Your brain: 160% interpersonal, 20% visual, 100% verbal, and 120% mathematical!
Congratulations on being 400% smart! Actually, on my test, everyone is. The above score breaks down what kind of thinking you most enjoy doing. A score above 100% means you use that kind of thinking more than average, and a score below 100% means you use it less. It says nothing about how good you are at any one, just how interested you are in each, relatively. A substantial difference in scores between two people means, conclusively, that they are different kinds of thinkers.

Matching Summary: Each of us has different tastes. Still, I offer the following advice, which I think is obvious:

  1. Don’t date someone if your interpersonal percentages differ by more than 80%.
  2. Don’t be friends with someone if your verbal percentages differ by more than 100%.
  3. Don’t have sex with someone if their math percentage is over 200%.

Oh damn. We'll never date, our interpersonal score differs 100! And I already bought a new dress ;)

But, phew: Only 40 more in verbal and I wouldn't even be allowed to talk to you. *g*

And I already bought a new dress ;)

Teh dammit!

I wudda thunk we'd be less far apart in our results, but we've got a solid 60% difference across the board. Interesting.

Synchronicity eats my brain.

I am 60% interpersonal, 140% visual, 60% verbal, and 140% mathematical. I don't get the mathematical one, because I don't think I'm all that mathematical. Oh well! These things are neat. And addicting. Thus, evil.

Yes, they are teh evil. The fact that I posted this one publicly instead of just sticking it in a private entry for my own reference is unusual. Usually, I don't have anything interesting to say about the results and teh evil wins out and I just don't post it.
