Go and VOTE on June 28th!

Took the election-issues-I-care-about quiz at PoliticsWatch.com. I was mostly curious to see how they came out, though I already know who I'm voting for. It was interesting to see which issues they highlighted.

My results:

NDP: 100
Bloc: 71
Liberal: 38
Conservatives: 33

Since I'm living in BC, the Bloc is a non-contender. What's really interesting is how (according to PoliticsWatch.com, that is) how far from my views the Liberals are. I didn't expect a measly 38% match. I knew Martin was more conservative that Cretien, but I don't think I've been paying attention to how much more conservative he is. Now that I think about it... yeah, I don't really like him running this country.

Not that I'm really sure that the NDP would be more competent, but at least they'd be making fewer dangerous foreign- and social-policy decisions. I think.

Hey you and I are almost twins, politically speaking. :)

I think that all the parties are probably equally "competent" (ie. they are all equally likely to go corrupt over a certain amount of time in office), but the NDP certainly aligns more with my views than the others. Pity the quiz didn't include some of the other parties (Green, Communist, and the other marginal parties).

Yeah, I'm a little ticked that they didn't at least include the Greens.

As are the Greens who are protesting not being included in National Debates (again).
